The NBA is investigating an alleged relationship between Thunder’s Josh Giddey and a minor.
The NBA is investigating allegations that Oklahoma City Thunder guard Josh Giddey had an inappropriate relationship with an underage girl, a league spokesperson said Friday.
The accusations emerged on social media earlier this week.
In a post that is now deleted, An anonymous social media user said a girl seen with Giddey in videos and photos was a high school student at the time. The social media account has since been deactivated.
Giddey, 21, declined to comment Friday.
“I obviously understand the question, but there are no further comments at this time,” said Giddey to reporters when asked about the allegations after practice.
Thunder coach Mark Daigneault also refused. to discuss the topic after practice on Friday.
“It’s a personal matter and I have no comment on it,” Daigneault told the outlet. “And that will be my comment on anything related.”
Giddey, the No. 6 pick in the 2021 draft, is averaging 12.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game for the Thunder (11-4), who will play next Saturday against the visiting 76ers.
