Helena Pueyo will become the second Spanish player to qualify for the prestigious Final Four universitaria female after Arizona’s victory over Indiana 55-63 in Elite 8. Along with Pueyo in the Wildcats she also plays Marta Garca although he did not play a single minute of the quarterfinal match.
The achievement is historic for the University of Arizona which achieves the pass to the final to four women for the first time. In addition, in the quarterfinal game there was also a historical fact for our basketball as for the first time two Spanish women were measured in an Elite 8 match.
