It’s THE surprise of the night in the NBA. Days after beating the Nets, Detroit, which was last in the league, won at TD Garden in Boston.
Still deprived of the French Killian Hayes, the Pistons also had to do without the other French hope of the franchise, Sekou Doumbouya, following a concussion protocol.
Despite a bad start (14/4), Detroit will wake up and really start its match (23/27) at the end of the first quarter. But the Celtics remain in contact, still led by his duo Tatum – Brown, who was again very good last night. Between them, they scored 60 of their team’s 102 points! At halftime, Detroit still has a slight lead (52/54).
The absences of Smart and Walker are felt on the Boston side, and Tatum therefore rarely leaves the floor. In 40 minutes, he has 33 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists. And yet he had the limelight stolen. It is not his teammate Jaylen Brown, yet very good with his 27 points, but the very young Saddiq Bay (21 years old).
The young Pistons winger scored 30 points and captured 12 rebounds in 27 minutes of play. On his cloud, he was also able to count on the 22 points of Delon Wright. Thanks to them two, the Pistons take several times up to 13 points ahead (78/85, 4th quarter).
Despite a last basket of the Celtics, who will return to 3 points in the last minute, the Celtics lose little at home. (102/108). The Pistons sign their 7th victory of the season and prove once again that they are very successful against the Top Teams of the league.
