The NBA has fined Philadelphia 76ers star James Harden a $100,000 fine following criticism he made of his current status with the organization.

Harden spoke publicly on August 14 and 17. He said that he would not fulfill the services agreed to in his contract unless he is transferred to another team.

The league spoke to the point guard as part of its investigation and confirmed that his comments alluded to Harden’s belief that the 76ers would not agree to his trade request.

Harden activated his option for next season in June, but the 76ers haven’t found a trade they want, drawing the player’s ire. Among other things, Harden called 76ers president Daryl Morey a liar at a promotional event in China.

“Daryl Morey is a liar and I will never be a part of an organization that he is a part of,” Harden said at the event. “Let me say it again: Daryl Morey is a liar and I will never be a part of an organization that he is a part of.”
