NBA fines Houston Rockets player and coach for inappropriate language towards referee

New York (AFP)

The NBA announced that it fined Houston Rockets player Dillon Brooks $35,000 and his coach Emi Udoka $25,000 for directing inappropriate language toward a referee.
The penalty came after Houston lost to the Milwaukee Bucks 128-119, in a match that witnessed Brooks directing inappropriate criticism and words to the referee, after he called fouls 38 seconds before the end of the final quarter.
Brooks, 27, moved to Houston last July in a trade with the Memphis Grizzlies. Brooks averages 14 points and 3.6 rebounds per game.
Udoka was appointed coach last April, after he was fired from the Boston Celtics, after violating the club’s policies regarding another member of the team.
The Pax decided the result of the match in the first half, after winning the first and second quarters 33-28 and 38-32, as the visitors settled for deciding the third by one basket (31-29), and the last quarter ended in a 28-28 tie.
The Bucks achieved their fourth consecutive victory and the nineteenth in 26 games this season, compared to the first loss, after five consecutive victories for Houston, and the tenth in 23 games this season.
It is noteworthy that the match witnessed the Greek giant, Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Milwaukee player, surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s record as the best player in Bucks history in rebounds, after he reached 7,165 rebounds compared to 7,161 for Abdul-Jabbar.
