That’s quite a lot of money for a sentence out of emotion! An insult has cost basketball superstar Kevin Durant dearly: The 33-year-old from the Brooklyn Nets has to pay a fine of 22,600 euros after making an obscene statement to a fan in the game against the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday. This was announced by the NBA on Friday (March 18, 2022). The incident happened just before the end of the second quarter.
“Shut the fuck up and sit down,” Durant called out to a fan who had previously slightly provoked him. The Nets lost the game in the last second 111-113.
Meanwhile, Daniel Theis was the only one of four Germans in action to celebrate a win in the NBA. The center contributed eleven points to the 126:97 of his Boston Celtics at the Sacramento Kings, the Celtics are the fourth-best team in the Eastern Conference.
