Domantas Sabonis has given his blessing to the NBA Cup. The center of the Sacramento Kings confesses that he is excited to play the new league tournament.
“We’ve been talking about it for the last three or four years and it finally happened. It’s another chance to win something. In international basketball these mid-season cups are important, they mean something. History is made and it becomes something important,” the Lithuanian told The Sporting News.
The NBA In-Season Tournament will begin on November 3 and end on December 9 with a Final Four in Las Vegas. Sacramento will start the championship in group C West along with the Warriors, Timberwolves, Thunder and Spurs.
“I feel like this year if people aren’t currently on board, once the first champion is known, they’re going to say, ‘Oh, I want that next year.’ Each time he will improve », bet the 27-year-old player.
Sabonis also praised that the outcome of the Cup is held in Las Vegas. “It’s a great place. It’s like the atmosphere of the Euroleague Final Four or the NCAA for the NBA teams. Can you imagine that half of the pavilion is purple for the Kings and another color for the rival team? It’s going to be amazing and so much fun. I hope it will be accepted among the players and everyone will really compete in those extra matches”, he concluded.
