NBA The league presents new protocols for the following season
Lthe NBA coach will have to comply with certain protocols of clothing and health for the season that begins on December 22, which includes the mandatory use of masks and formal dress at parties.
The league decided to relax the dress code for coaches this season, although not as much as it did in the middle of this year in the “bubble” at Walt Disney World. Jackets, whether sports or part of a suit, they won’t be a requirement – but coaches won’t be able to wear the polo shirts most wore during bubble matches.
The new league stipulations are explained in detail in a memo sent to the coaches on Sunday and obtained by The Associated Press. They require a “business casual attire, dress shirt, pants, socks, and shoes.”
The biggest change is in the masks, a decision that was made with safety in mind, as the pandemic continues and teams get ready to play in their arenas for the first time since March 11, when the season was suspended after Utah’s Rudy Gobert tested positive.
The rules will go into effect from the preseason that begins on Friday. The regular campaign begins on December 22nd. The NBA Coaches Association discussed the changes with the league on Tuesday.
