The Boston Celtics continue with a firm step at the start of the 2024-2025 NBA season, and this time it was their resounding 122-102 victory over the Washington Wizards that placed them with a perfect 2-0 record.
With 27 points from Jaylen Brown and 25 from Jayson Tatum, the Celtics left no room for doubt in a game that, although it started with surprises, quickly tilted in favor of the Boston team.

Tatum and Brown, the offensive engine of the Celtics
Once again, the duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown led the Celtics’ offense. Tatum, who has already accumulated two double-doubles in this nascent season, contributed 25 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists, consolidating his presence on both sides of the court.
For his part, Brown stood out as the game’s top scorer with 27 points, in addition to 8 rebounds and 4 steals, demonstrating once again his ability to impact all aspects of the game.
A rival in reconstruction
The Wizards, for their part, presented a team in full reconstruction, with two of their rookies, Alexandre Sarr and Carlton Carrington, in the starting five. Despite a surprising start led by Jordan Poole, who scored 17 points in the first quarter, the Washington team’s inexperience was soon exposed.
Washington took an 8-point lead in the first quarter, thanks to Poole’s accuracy from the three-point line. However, Boston quickly adjusted and closed the first quarter with a minimal lead of 33-32.

From there, the Celtics took control of the game, especially in the third quarter, where they extended their lead to 25 points, leaving the Wizards without an answer.
