NBA Calendar: Celtics – Knicks and Lakers

The NBA’s season schedule will be released in full this week, but the first posters are already starting to trickle through Shams Charania. Among them, the two meetings that will open the season on October 22: Celtics – Knicks and Lakers – Wolves.

It is customary for the reigning NBA champion to play on the first day of the following regular season. This year is an exception to the rule as the Boston Celtics will play the opening game of the 2024-25 financial year in the biggest league in the world.

Jayson Tatum and his team will receive their championship rings at TD Garden right before a game against one of the most anticipated teams in the Eastern Conference: the New York Knicks.

The Big Apple franchise was one of the darlings of the NBA last season and only lost in the seventh game of the Conference semifinals against the Indiana Pacers. From this loss, they have strengthened with income Mikal Bridges ; the old merry band of Villanova is now fully reunited.

The 2024-25 NBA season opens on TNT Oct. 22, according to sources:

After this first game, Major League fans will leave Boston for Los Angeles, from one legendary franchise to another. The Lakers will open the Western Conference at home against a team that has changed status in 2023-24: the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Anthony Edwards and his team reached the Conference Finals last year, notably eliminating the Denver Nuggets of three-time MVP Nikola Jokic. The Minny franchise has rarely had the honor of playing on the first night of the regular season and this role is a testament to the hype surrounding this team.

Celtics – Knicks to start, Lakers – Wolves to finish. The NBA knows how to make their wish come true, we can’t wait for October 22nd.
