The league is considering a major change for theNBA All-Star Game 2025introducing a styled format tournament with four teamsaccording to what was reported by ESPN. The proposal includes three teams made up of eight All-Stars each and the winning team of the Rising Stars Game, who will compete in a mini-tournament to decide the best team.
For months the league has been exploring ideas to renew the All-Star Game, with in-depth discussions also during the Summer League a Las Vegas. The proposal for a quick and spectacular tournament seems to have achieved broad consensus among the parties involved. This innovative formula was discussed on Friday by Competition Committeemade up of owners, managers, players, coaches and union representatives.
The 2024 All-Star Game showed a marked decline in competitive quality, an issue even recognized by the NBA Commissioner Adam Silver:

Stephen Curry is working with other All-Stars to finalize event details. During the All-Star Weekend in Indianapolis last February, the GSW star participated in the NBA vs. WNBA three-point shooting challenge with Sabrina Ionescu. For 2025, a similar format is being thought of, which could also include Klay Thompson e Caitlin Clarkincreasing engagement with WNBA and NBA stars.
