Independence Road Party Council Member Cansu N. Nazlı made a statement about drug fraud in insurance companies. Nazlı emphasized that what is called drug fraud in insurance is actually the abuse of drug support, which is one of the scarce opportunities provided by the Social Insurance Department to the insured. Nazlı said that some people have gained a significant amount of unjust wealth from the abuse, and stated that she does not find it appropriate to explain this corruption as the greed and corruption of a group of pharmacists and doctors. Pointing out that the main reason for this corruption to occur is that low-income people try to access medicine through pharmacists because they do not have money to go to the doctor, Nazlı said that those who commit corruption are those who benefit from the distortion caused by the need for poor insured people who cannot access health care to access medicine and regain their health.

Nazlı said, “In conditions where health is marketized, public health care, which is the most fundamental right, is being degraded day by day by previous governments, infrastructure problems of public hospitals are not solved, personnel needs are not met, and the budget of the Ministry of Health is allocated to private hospitals under the guise of ‘referral to private’ instead of meeting these needs.” “As long as you continue to ignore the insured people who are trying to survive, you will not be able to solve this problem from its root,” he said. Nazlı said that the biggest fraud in insurance is not drug fraud, but the opportunity to continue commercial activities and even enter government tenders by giving an employer who has a huge insurance debt a “no debt” letter in installments, and stated that the insurance does not support the worker who had an accident because his employer did not pay the insurance.

Nazlı said, “The ‘biggest corruption’ in insurance is to constantly cause losses to insurance companies by issuing interest amnesty at regular intervals while not imposing fines on employers who owe premiums, to steal the investments of non-citizen workers in order to provide premium support to employers, and to steal the future of the insured by constantly debiting the insurance companies.” In order to clean up all the damage suffered by the insurance companies and the insured people, those who have been in power so far and the bosses they benefited from by causing losses to the insurance companies will have to be prosecuted!” said.
