The East Netherlands police let it be known that the case has its attention. No one has been arrested yet, a spokeswoman said.
Hanging a swastika flag is an offence. “Our colleagues are very attentive to this,” she says. “Our colleagues have never encountered a flag before.”
Hay bales on fire
The flag was spotted just after 3 a.m. last night. A few hours earlier, hay bales were on fire in two places along the A15, reports the Gelderlander. According to the newspaper, this happened around 10 p.m. at the exit to Ochten and a little later at exit Dodewaard.

It is not known whether the events have to do with the farmers’ protests against the nitrogen policy. Farmers’ organizations were disappointed on Friday after the conversation with nitrogen discussion leader Johan Remkes. Actions were subsequently announced.
