Sixer Sidhu.. If Navjot Singh Sidhu is at the crease.. then it will be a celebration for Indian cricket fans. He used to thrill the fans with his stylish shots that were stepped out.
In his time Sidhuvinithiri was average and more than capable of dealing with spin bowling with ease.. Whether it was Muttiah Muralitharan or Shane Warne, he knew that batting heat well. Vaughan himself once said that it was Sidhu who faced his ball better than Sachin.
Sidhu’s innings that comes to mind first are the 101 runs he scored against Pakistan in the Sharjah Cup in 1996 when India crossed the 300-run mark for the first time with Tendulkar and the 93 runs he scored against Pakistan in the 1996 World Cup quarter-finals.
A complete entertainer who added value to his team and the game, Sidhu was also a highly aggressive player.. That’s probably why people were led to believe the story of headbutting the umpire..
