The prefecture had banned all activity on the two tributaries of the Garonne due to the floods
Almost a month after the ban on navigation and nautical activities on the Ciron and the Dropt, two tributaries of the Garonne in South Gironde, the Gironde prefecture has just reinstated the authorization.
A decree dated March 1 allows activities to be carried out again on these two rivers, the water level of which has returned to normal.
On February 5, the prefecture had to take measures of prohibition because of the rainy events which had affected the South Gironde at the end of January then the flood of the Garonne at the beginning of February. The significant rise in water levels on these two rivers “could prove to be dangerous for navigation”, had estimated the prefecture.
