SANKT GEORGEN IN ATTERGAU. His navigation system was the undoing of a 53-year-old Czech on Sunday evening. Instead of going to his accommodation, he was taken to the center of Sankt Georgen im Attergau (Vöcklabruck district). And thus directly to a police control.
The man had been driving his car from the Czech Republic to Sankt Georgen im Attergau because he had taken a room there because of a new job. When the 53-year-old Czech opened the driver’s door during the inspection, they encountered a strong smell of alcohol.
2.16 per mille
An alcohol test on the 53-year-old man showed 2.16 per thousand alcohol in the blood. The driver’s license and vehicle keys were taken from the driver on the spot, the police reported on Monday.
Usually he always takes the train to Austria, but this time it didn’t work out because of the timetable, the 53-year-old told the police officers. That’s why he set out by car in the direction of Sankt Georgen – and allegedly only drank three beers.
