Navantia brought together 250 companies from different industrial areas yesterday in Madrid to try to set up an ecosystem to make the country a key player in the offshore wind sector. Sector calculations suggest that this market can have an impact on Spanish GDP of more than 49,600 million euros in the period 2025-2050, of which 40,874 million will have a direct impact on companies. Javier Herrador, director of Navantia Seanergies, advocated establishing synergies with the industries. «The future we have is very promising and we have to go through it together“, he claimed.
Abel Méndez, commercial director of this division, assured that at the moment there is a “super positive cycle” for offshore wind, and recalled that the activity of offshore wind has represented a business of 900 million euros in its first years of existence. , with 11 projects carried out in five countries, either alone or in partnership with Windar Renewables. Growth in the last year has been such that seven orders for four countries have been sealed.
The president of the public company, Ricardo Domínguez, affirmed that «green energies are a huge opportunity to boost our industrial fabric. Navantia Seanergies is the actor that can pull and make an entire business ecosystem participate in this market”.
