bTV will broadcast the Oscar-winning documentary Navalny. Television viewers will be able to watch it on Friday, March 24 at 8 p.m.
Director Daniel Roer explores the life and work of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, who, after years of campaigning against corruption, has made powerful enemies – including President Vladimir Putin.
In August 2020, a plane traveling from Siberia to Moscow made an emergency landing. One of his passengers, Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, is in critical condition. He was taken to a local Siberian hospital and eventually evacuated to Berlin, where doctors confirmed that he had been poisoned.
The documentary follows Navalny and his work with Bulgarian investigative journalist Hristo Grozev, who tries to find out who the poisoner is.
