Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny has returned to the penal colony where he was previously held after a hospital stay, Russia’s state news agency TASS reported.
Navalny was transferred to a prison hospital after being on a hunger strike for three weeks. With this he wanted to force that a self-chosen doctor would examine him. Later it turned out that he had been transferred to a regular hospital in Vladimir.
45-year-old Navalny had lost kilos and his doctors even feared for his life. On the advice of his own doctors did he stop the hunger strike?.
Navalny is said to have now recovered and returned to the camp where he was sentenced to over Must serve 2.5 years for failing to comply with the terms of the suspended sentence in 2014. He was then convicted of embezzling half a million dollars. The European Court of Human Rights ruled that the fraud process was not fair.
