Navalny receives no winter boots in the colony; he will go to court

Navalny informed of the incident and of his intention to file a complaint directly with the administration of the colony through his social networks.

“The whole area switched to winter wear several weeks ago, but sadly they still don’t give out winter boots. My walking area is an ice-covered pit the size of a prison cell. It’s hard to walk there in autumn boots. However, you have to walk, because it’s the only hour and a half of fresh air available during the day,” says Navalny.

Navalny believes that the colony’s administration’s refusal not to give him boots is part of the prison’s crackdown. This is how the prison administration wants Navalny to give up his position and his activities.

According to the conditions of detention of Russian prisoners, the winter uniform of male prisoners includes winter shoes.

Navalny is currently in Colony No. 6 in Melekhov, Vladimir region. He was transferred to this colony in June of this year after being sentenced to nine years in prison in a new case for “fraud and contempt of court”.

Navalny stresses that all charges brought against him are fabricated with the aim of limiting his political activity.

He has been placed in solitary confinement several times in the colony, but this month he was transferred to a cell-like facility where prisoners can be held in solitary confinement.

Navalny has already gone to court several times against the administration of the colony.
