“The Federal Penitentiary Service is hiding Alexei’s whereabouts from both his relatives and lawyers. The last time we found him on his own was in the Koluchugino Pre-Trial Detention Center.
On March 3, Navalni announced that he had been transferred to the 3rd detention center in Kolchugino, although it was expected that he would eventually be transferred to a penal colony in the nearby town of Pokrov, 100 kilometers east of Moscow, the media said.
Navalny was poisoned by “Novichok” in August last year. He was sick on August 20 when he flew from Tomsk to Moscow. The plane made an emergency landing in Omsk, where Navalny was hospitalized with signs of poisoning. The hospital claimed that no toxic substances had been found in the politician’s body.
Two days later, Navalny was allowed to be transferred to a hospital in Berlin, where analyzes confirmed the poisoning of a substance belonging to the “Novičok” group.
A study by Bellingcat and other media identified a special group of FDDs that have been tracking down politicians since 2017 and organizing his poisoning.
After treatment in Berlin, Navalny returned to Russia on January 17, where he was already detained at the airport. On February 2, the court sentenced him to prison.
