Naughty Dog Reveals The Last of Us Part I Rebuild Process

Remake or Remaster? See what Naughty Dog (re)did to bring The Last of Us Part I back.

In September the players of PlayStation will be able to dive again into one of the most acclaimed games of the last generations, with the remake of The Last of Us Part I. Rebuilt from the ground up for the next generation PlayStation, the game from Naughty Dog raised doubts, questions and discussions among players about the validity of its existence and to what extent the game would need a remake.

But now it’s almost there and Naughty Dog has revealed a video explaining the whys in a subtle way, showing improvements, additions and changes to the game, to bring it in line with its sequel, The Last of Us Part IIand doing justice to the vision of the original game, limited by the capabilities of the PlayStation 3.

According to the production team, The Last of Us Part I has been upgraded from scratch, with an updated game engine that includes a series of changes and improvements impossible in the previous generation and reflecting the advances made for The Last of Us Part. II. From updated character models, to fine-tuning the artistic direction, character animations, artificial intelligence and overall image quality have all been taken care of to bring The Last of Us Part I up to what is expected of a current-gen game. .

In addition, the producer also promises a series of extra additions, highlighting unlockable visual items and more than 60 accessibility options so that everyone can experience the story of Joel and Ellie.

The Last of Us Part I launches on PlayStation 5 on September 2, with PC sometime later.
