Naughty Dog announces The Last of Us board game – Gaming – .Geeks

Game developer Naughty Dog announces a board game within The Last of Us franchise. The game will be subtitled Escape the Dark and will be funded as a Kickstarter project starting November 8, so it’s not yet certain if the game will actually release.

The board game is made by Themeborne, a board game developer who has previously created other Escape the Dark games and used Kickstarter as a crowdfunding platform. Like previous games in the Themeborne series, The Last of Us: Escape the Dark will be a cooperative game in which players will at least be able to play the main characters Joel and Ellie, according to the shared image.

Writes Naughty Dog that in previous Themeborne games, players had to “face challenges and forge a new path during each game session, because no two games are alike”. The Last of Us: Escape the Dark probably also contains a story that is slightly different with each game session by means of event cards and various scenarios.

The themed board games are characterized by their black and white style and dark themes. Previously, the company released Escape the Dark Castle and Escape the Dark Sector. In addition to the spin-off of a board game, there will soon be one HBO television series with the first game of The Last of Us.
