A fan of on-camera confidences, naturopath Éric Gandon made his comeback on his YouTube channel with 72,600 subscribers, Wednesday February 14, 2024, in a seventeen-minute video.
“I decided that the time had come for me to come out of my silence,” he begins, his face more marked than in the summer of 2021, when the lights of the media and the justice system suddenly shone on him.
This is the first time he has spoken publicly since his placement under judicial supervision in May 2023, after four months in pre-trial detention.
On January 12, 2023, the 58-year-old naturopath was indicted on charges of involuntary manslaughter, abuse of weakness, endangering the lives of others and illegal exercise of the professions of doctor and pharmacist for events that occurred in July 2020 to January 2023.
Among them, the death of a forty-year-old woman, on August 12, 2021, at the Château de Brou, in Noyant-de-Touraine, as part of a water fasting course, which consists of not consuming solid foods for several days, without medical supervision.
The vaccine against Covid-19 still mentioned
In his video, Éric Gandon returns to the death of this woman, calling it “experienced faster” and indicating that she had already participated in three weeks of fasting in 2018.
“She received the double messenger RNA injection”, he specifies, suggesting a link between the Covid-19 vaccine and his death. An allusion already denounced by Miviludes (1) in its 2021 activity reportpublished in November 2022.
Éric Gandon has also entrusted his defense to Fabrice Di Vizio, controversial lawyer and popular figure of anti-vaxxers and the movement against the health and vaccination pass.
Back in Vendée, the naturopath says he was “shocked” et ” hurt “ by these legal proceedings. “They are investigating me as if I were a high-level terrorist,” he complains, regretting being banned from contact with his son, also indicted (2).
A video to proclaim his innocence
Beyond informing his 72,600 subscribers of his situation, he took the opportunity of this speech to proclaim his innocence: “There is absolutely no connection between the deaths of these three people and the fast. » He recalls that between 2011 and 2021, he accompanied 4,000 people in fasting cures.
The fifty-year-old says he is the victim of “relentlessness”. He considers that his placement in pre-trial detention can be explained solely by “political reasons”, and that the judges would have acted under the “media pressure”, assimilated to the “propaganda”.
A speech with conspiratorial overtones, viewed nearly 2,000 times in twenty-four hours, which immediately found its audience, as evidenced by dozens of comments of encouragement and sympathy. In the process, Éric Gandon called for financial support, after the confiscation of €32,000 in cash during the search of his home.
As a reminder, he faces a sentence of three years’ imprisonment and a fine of €375,000. According to him, his trial could be held at the end of 2024 or the beginning of 2025.
Contacted by The New RepublicThursday February 15, 2024, he had not responded to our requests at the time of writing these lines.
