NEW YORK — Natti Natasha was named the queen of the 41st edition of the Dominican National Parade, which will take place on Sunday, August 13, in New York City.
Under the motto “Our history, our people”, the parade will also have the participation of the President of the Dominican Republic, Luis Abinader, DJ ADONI, Antonio Cabrera and Celines Toribio, among other Dominicans.
“Without a doubt, I am living a dream and the name of my Dominican Republic, and my people Santiago, live inside of me,” the singer said in a statement.
The artist thanked the public of Dominicans on the island and in the diaspora “because without them it would be nothing.”
The event “recognizes outstanding people who exemplify the richness of Dominican culture and the triumphs of the Dominican community,” the statement detailed.
The popular parade, organized by the National Dominican Day Parade (NatDDP), seeks to promote the culture and folklore of the Dominican people in the Big Apple “The honorees represent a diverse group of people who have made significant contributions in their respective fields and have served as ambassadors of Dominican culture in the world,” said the organization.
“Born and raised in Santiago, since I was a child I grew up influenced by great artists from my country such as Fernando Villalona, Eddy Herrera, Hermanos Rosario, Milly Quezada, Antony Santos and Juan Luis Guerra,” recalled Natti Natasha.
