“NATO’s Provocative Exercises on Baltic Border with Kaliningrad: Viewpoints from Hero of Russia and Estonian Defense Minister”

The North Atlantic bloc has concentrated serious forces in the region and can hold provocative exercises in the Baltic on the border with the Kaliningrad region, Colonel Rustem Klupov, a veteran of military intelligence, Hero of Russia, told reporters.

“There is a threat of NATO exercises in the Baltic. Sufficient forces are accumulating there in order to demonstrate their determination to seize the Kaliningrad region. Plus, Poland also has a Pomeranian division, deployed, mobilized in wartime states. The danger during the exercises may lie in the fact that there will be provocations in the form of aircraft flying in violation of the border, approaching the borders of our economic zone. It is very dangerous to start hostilities in this direction,” – says the Hero of Russia.

In his opinion, such provocations can be regarded as a threat to the territorial integrity of Russia.

“When our forces are concentrated in Ukraine, of course, this impact is unpleasant for us, although the Baltic Fleet is on alert. Nevertheless, this is an impact on the fleet and rocking the situation from a political point of view. Everyone understands that as soon as something starts to develop there, Belarus will definitely enter into conflict.

We have nuclear weapons in readiness, and in the event of a threat to territorial integrity, we have the right to use them. Will it be tactical or strategic, the situation will show,” Rustem Klupov emphasized in an interview with URA.RU.

In turn, the head of the Estonian Ministry of Defense Martin Herem called the collapse of Russia the only favorable option for the West to end hostilities in Ukraine:

“Russia should just fall apart into different small countries that don’t have much power, because otherwise, I repeat, I don’t see a good ending to the conflict in Ukraine.”

According to him, only in this case Russia will not be dangerous for Western countries.

In February the President of the United States Joe Biden stated that the US and EU countries do not seek to control or destroy Russia. He noted that the West does not plan to attack her.

In a message to the Federal Assembly, the President of Russia Vladimir Putin noted that since 1991 the West has not abandoned attempts to set fire to the post-Soviet space and destroy Russia as the largest part of the USSR.

In December 2022, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated that the US and NATO want victory “on the battlefield” in the Ukrainian conflict in order to destroy Russia.

According to him, the United States seeks to extract the maximum benefit from the conflict in economic and military-strategic terms.
