NATO tank killers were transferred to the Ukraine front from Syria

The Mi-8AMTSh-VN helicopters, called “Sapsan”, which are equipped with Hermes-A missiles, have already proven themselves in battles

A few days ago, a detachment of the special forces of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation was transferred to the ABM zone in the direction of Zaporozhye. Its main purpose is to identify and eliminate heavy equipment on the ground.

Mi-8AMTSh-VN helicopters, called “Sapsan”, equipped with Hermes-A missiles, will be used for this purpose.

Expert Dmitry Kornev said that in the future they can destroy up to ten Leopard or Abrams tanks, as the helicopters have already proven themselves well in combat.

“The modernization of the equipment was carried out in view of the experience of its combat use in Syria. The first tests of the Mi-8AMTSh-VN Sapsan took place in 2020 and turned out to be excellent,” said the expert, quoted by foreign agencies.

According to them, “Sapsan” can automatically detect the launch of missiles and create interference for them.

Kornev noted that in order to achieve the best effect from the use of helicopters, it is necessary to continuously deliver the Ataka anti-tank missile system to the area of the HVO.
