The 155mm FH70 Howitzer has been used by NATO countries for over 40 years.
However for Ukrainian army it’s a new weapon. The first delivery is from Italy in May and the Ukrainian gunners are in training in Estonia.
The self-propelled howitzer is fired at Russian convoys, command posts and missile launchers. It also provides artillery cover for Ukrainian army offensives.
Its range is up to 30km. and according to the soldiers it is very accurate: the first bullet falls within 50 meters of the target and the second hits it. This is how they managed to destroy Russian Buk missile system, which was 25 km away. behind the first line.
