General Christopher Cavoli, Commander-in-Chief of the Allied NATO Armed Forces in Europe, is convinced that Ukraine will receive the promised equipment for the counteroffensive in time.
He said this during hearings U.S. House of Representatives Committee on the Armed Services “European Truth”.
“We sat down with our Ukrainian colleagues, counted the amount of equipment they need for this offensive, and we collected this from our allies, who were very generous, especially in the matter of tanks and armored fighting vehicles. And we delivered all this to Ukraine, we have already delivered more than 98 percent of the combat vehicles, they are already there,” Cavoli said, answering the question whether Ukraine will be able to receive equipment for the counteroffensive in time.
“I strongly believe that we have delivered the equipment they need and we will continue to deliver to support their operations,” Cavoli added.
According to him, so far the material support and training provided to Ukraine by more than 50 international donors has been huge and decisive for the success of the Ukrainian military.
“During the winter, our coalition allowed the Armed Forces of Ukraine to generate the capabilities necessary to protect and recapture parts of the sovereign territory of Ukraine,” the general said.
