The federal Environment Canada agency submitted a poor air quality advisory for several regions of the country on Sunday morning, due to the numerous forest fires of recent days in Ontario and Western Canada.
“An unusual cough, sore throat, headache and shortness of breath are some of the symptoms. Children, the elderly and people with cardiovascular or pulmonary disease, such as asthma, are at greater risk, ”we read.
These conditions could continue until Monday
Although it is one of the least affected provinces, Quebec will also be affected by this situation. The sectors of Chibougamau, Parent and in the vicinity of the La Vérendrye wildlife reserve are among the regions under surveillance.
To improve the situation, it is suggested by the federal agency to use public transit, reduce the speed of your vehicle or avoid leaving the engine running unnecessarily.
