A PIN failure induced issues with funds for hours this night. A spokesperson for the Dutch Funds Affiliation estimated that 30 to 40 % of all debit card funds have been affected. He spoke of a “main disruption”.
ATMs weren’t affected by the outage.
The outage began round 6 p.m. and was resolved after a number of hours. It seems that the issues began with a transaction processor, says the spokesperson for the Dutch Funds Affiliation.
The PIN disruptions led to disappointment amongst folks in supermarkets and retailers. At an IKEA department in Haarlem, employees handed out cookies. At numerous supermarkets, folks have been requested on the entrance if folks might pay in money. In any other case they would not be allowed in.
