Santiago de Cali, October 27, 2023. This Saturday, the people of Valle del Cauca will have the opportunity to catch up with the vaccination schedules in the great National Vaccination Day that will take place in all the municipalities of the department from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
“There will be a vaccination intensification day in Valle del Cauca to update the schedules for our children, adolescents, adults and seniors. It is very important for parents to verify the ID cards and remind them that we are beginning to vaccinate 9-year-old children against the Human Papillomavirus, which will prevent cancer in women in their genital organs and in men,” said María Cristina Lesmes, Departmental Secretary of Valley Health. So far more than 570 9-year-old children have been vaccinated against the HPV virus.
In the department, more than 90 vaccination points will be available in the municipalities and during the day 22 vaccines will be available to prevent 30 diseases. “Our adults should have the flu vaccine and children should have the complete schedule,” Lesmes reiterated.
People will be able to go to the IPS of the public health network closest to their home, they only need to present a vaccination card and identification document.
