The National Institute of Statistics is carrying out the twentieth National Urban Survey of Citizen Security (ENUSC) throughout the national territory until December of this year. In Ñuble, the uprising has focused on the communes of Chillán, Chillán Viejo and Coihueco, in addition, during this month San Carlos, Bulnes and Quillón were added.
Since 2003, the INE, through an agreement with the Undersecretary for Crime Prevention, has carried out the ENUSC. This study allows us to know the number of people and households that have been victims of crimes, as well as the perception of insecurity in the population.
In this context, the regional director of INE Ñuble, Ana Delgado Puentes, invited the public to confidently answer this survey and others carried out by the institution, “since all the information requested is protected by the law of statistical secrecy, which prohibits the dissemination of personal information and which is requested exclusively for statistical purposes, with the aim of updating the measurement of victimization of individuals and households”.
The interviewers visit the selected homes, first, to report relevant aspects of the project, in addition to managing the application of the survey.
All INE staff always carry a badge with their photo, name, QR code and RUT that identifies them as officials or collaborators of the institution.
To corroborate the identity, go to the website and enter the RUT that appears on the credential or scan the QR code, which leads directly to the institutional profile of the verified person.
