After a short break, which allowed to run a stage of the Crystal Cup in Fontainebleau, a new stage of the National Trophy of the Cross Haras du Lion – Genybet will be contested this Friday, April 21, 2023, in Strasbourg, on the occasion of the Grand Cross de Strasbourg #4 TNC Haras du Lion Genybet – Prix Martine and Michel Lutz.
Eight competitors will cover the 5,200m of the Strasbourg course. The bay of Mont-Saint-Michel will be well represented with two competitors trained by Patrice Quinton and two others by Christophe Herpin. Belhom de Juilley (Gris de Gris) fell at the last hurdle in the #3 of the TNC de Lignières, while he was still in the race. He has already won in Strasbourg, but in a steeplechase. Funky you Mestivel (Archange d’Or) finished third in the Lignières stage, he who finished fourth in Strasbourg last year. Sacred Destiny (Voix du Nord) is an authentic Vittel specialist. He also won the #10 TNC there last year, but he is making his comeback. Caesar de Pretot (Kap Rock) is seasoned on the cross and he has just won in Nancy. Drunken Estruval (Bathyrhon) was shaped for cross country by the skilful Guillaume Macaire and Hector de Lageneste. His success in Pau and his recent second place in Saumur allow him to win in Strasbourg. Hope (Spider Flight), is a specialist in Saumur, where he notably won #14 of the TNC 2022. Jetstream Jack (Beneficial) is a German competitor, trained for a long time by Xavier Le Stang and who is beginning to enjoy the discipline of cross country. Finally, Brunch Royal (Sunday Break), from the training of Josef Vana Jr is also back, but he participated in the last two editions of the Grand Cross of Strasbourg with varying fortunes. However, let’s not forget that he won the Crystal Cup event at Merano in September 2022, an event with Gr2 status.
