Opening show | Theater at Noon 2022

This Tuesday, April 5, the season opens with the show “Que no muera la clave”, with La 110st, a salsa brava orchestra with a great national tour.

The group presents a journey through the history of salsa, with its most representative songs and artists of the 60s and how they wrote, through this musical genre, the reality of a heterogeneous and changing Latin America, eager to discover its identity, but, above all, for shouting their needs; that Latin America of great miscegenation and open wounds. The orchestra will perform original songs by Costa Rican composers related to the salsa genre.

The repertoire includes songs like “Barrio Salsa”, by Sergio Calvo; “Ax and Machete”, by Enildo Padrón; “The jíbaro and nature”, by Eladio Jiménez; “What a mess”, by Joe Cuba, among others.

The 110st is a group made up of musicians who studied at the National Institute of Music, the University of Costa Rica and the National University. They have the direction of Ernesto Gallardo.
