The first national team tournament of the season.
Then two goalkeepers will debut: Skellefteå’s Linus Söderström and Färjestad’s Carl Lindbom.
– An incredibly exciting pair of goalkeepers. It will be great fun to see them in Tre Kronor, says Sam Hallam.
Linus Söderström was one of the SHL’s best goalkeepers last season, while Carl Lindbom held the highest level with Djurgården in the Hockey Allsvenskan.
This autumn both have impressed and now they get the chance in Tre Kronor for the first time.
Tre Kronor plays in the Karjala Tournament and meets the Czech Republic in Växjö on November 9.
– Very special to be able to come home to Växjö and Vida arena and represent Tre Kronor there, says Sam Hallam, who was previously a long-term coach for Växjö.
They then travel on to Tampere for a match against Switzerland on November 11, followed by a meeting with Finland the following day.
“Perhaps not very current”
Sam Hallam flags that several players of those who are with this time will not be in Switzerland in December.
– If you play this first tournament, you may not be very up-to-date for tournament two (Switzerland in December). It’s about providing good conditions and in tournament three, in Beijer, we will field the absolute best team we can, says Hallam.
One player who was selected but had to throw in the towel late due to injury was Skellefteå’s Pär Lindholm.
