The number of candidates who entered the baccalaureate for this 2024 session fell, according to data from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MESUPRES), the national success rate is 58.86% if it reached 59.93% for the previous session. , a difference of 1.07 points.

Toamasina registered the largest number of candidates who entered this exam. Of the 33,323 enrolled, 22,015 received this diploma with a success rate of 66.07%. For Toliara, the entry level is 63.01%, 61.89% for Mahajanga, 56.31% for Antananarivo, 55.20% for Fianarantsoa and 53.31% for Antsiranana. The S series recorded the best success rate with 67.23% for 14,011 registered. 53.54% for the A1 series, 54.13% for the A2; 66.89% for the C series, 64.26% for the D series, 66.83% for the L series and 65.78% for the OSE. Compared to the 2023 session, the success rate for the S series saw a clear increase this year, it went from 37.88% to 67.23%. The projects implemented at the public high school level have given students a taste of science subjects. In addition to this there are orientation programs that allow students to know which sector to choose for their planned career.
