Bulgarian Post Launches National Stage of the 54th International Epistolary competition
Bulgarian Post has officially announced the commencement of the national stage of the 54th International Epistolary Competition for Young People, organized by the World Postal Union (UPU). This year’s theme, “Imagine your ocean. Write a letter to someone by explaining to him why and how he should take care of you,” invites young minds to reflect on the importance of ocean conservation while honing their creative writing skills.
The International Epistolary Competition, a cornerstone initiative of the UPU, has been fostering literacy and creativity among children and young people since its inception. By encouraging participants to express their thoughts through the art of letter writing, the competition not only enhances language skills but also nurtures a deeper connection to global issues.
Participants are required to craft their submissions in the form of a letter, adhering strictly to the theme and keeping the word count under 800.Original illustrations by the participants are also welcome, adding a personal touch to their entries. The deadline for submitting letters to Bulgarian Post is March 28, 2025.
Eligibility for the competition is limited to children aged 9 to 15 years. Notably, the International Bureau of the UPU does not accept entries sent directly from schools or individuals. The winning letter at the national level will be translated and forwarded to the UPU International Bureau for consideration in the global competition. Additionally, the top three participants will receive exciting prizes: an electric scooter for first place, a book reader for second place, and a smartwatch for third place.
