National Security Council: the social “bubble” increases to 5 people per family

At the press conference that will follow the National Security Council on Monday, the Prime Minister is expected to announce the shrinking of the social “bubble”.

Un new National Security Council (CNS) was held this Monday at 9 am, just four days after the most recent, last Thursday. In the wake of this CNS, the Prime Minister, Sophie Wilmès, announced that the social bubble was going to be reduced to 5 people per household from this Wednesday, July 29.

“Previously, the bubble was 15 contacts per person, renewable every week. From now on, it will be 5 people per family and no longer per person, over the next four weeks. Children under 12 are not counted. “Until now, the social bubble of each individual was limited to 15 people per week. From Wednesday, it will increase to 5 people, always the same, for the next four weeks – and this for an entire household, and no longer per person. Children under 12 do not count in these 5 people. These 5 people are people in addition to your household with whom you maintain close contact, that is to say contacts during which safety distances are not always guaranteed, ”said Sophie Wilmès.

New measures for events

The rules for permitted events have also been changed. Originally, it was planned to double the number of people admitted to a demonstration from August 1. The reverse is true: the number of people allowed at organized events has been halved, dropping to 100 for indoor events and 200 for outdoor events.
