– There is hardly any other vital activity where society can be paralyzed for long by simple means, said Vigdis Grønhaug, who is assistant director of the National Security Authority (NSM) during NVE’s Energy Days on Thursday. according to Technical weekly.
There he said the security service revealed concrete plans to eliminate parts of the Norwegian electricity grid.
NSM points out to NTB that such plans have not been revealed recently and that there have been cases throughout history.
– The electricity grid is the target of sabotage and wrong actions. The energy industry is one of the most valuable things we have, Grønhaug said.
He believes that, among other things, the industry must ask how many Russians are working in the energy sector in Norway today and how much Chinese technology is being used.
– We know the Russians work there. After all, they are an internal threat. They can easily access information on the most important values in the energy sector, which can be exploited by Russia. This is the big risk, Grønhaug tells Teknisk Ukeblad.
Kristian Markegård, head of food safety at NVE, believes, on the other hand, that Norway has a robustness in nutrition that many would envy.
– There isn’t a single switch that kills our power system, not even parts of it. We have redundancy, a good network and good preparation. We also have manned operations centers that will detect irregularities, Markegård said in his post.
