National security is Bulgaria’s responsibility and an important part of Bulgarian sovereignty. No other country can influence us on what choices we will make in future reforms. Lena Borislavova from PP-DB wrote this on her Facebook profile.

“We openly state that for every candidate that we will propose for future appointments in the services, we will insist that he has a clean past, that he was not part of a criminal group in Bulgaria and Europe, and that he was not an agent of an enemy state or of state security”, she is categorical.

“We have not agreed with any embassy proposals for any of the services up to this point, but in the final appointments and as part of the legal procedures, the partner services are informed within the framework of our obligations as members of the European Union and NATO (and so that they can have access to information). We will not allow anyone to influence our strong desire to reform the services and to form a regular government that will free the leadership of the Bulgarian services from long-standing dependencies,” stressed Borislavova.
