“National Security Adviser at The White House Holds Talks With Saudi Crown Prince Over Iran and Yemen Concerns”

|

Reuters quoted a White House statement that US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan spoke to Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Tuesday, and that they discussed several issues, including Iran and steps to end the war in Yemen.

And the Saudi Press Agency reported on Tuesday that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman met with US Senator Lindsey Graham, a US senator who is visiting Saudi Arabia.

The agency said that the two sides reviewed bilateral relations and issues of common concern, while Senator Graham said – in a tweet after the meeting – that he had a “constructive and warm” meeting with the Saudi crown prince.

In a statement he issued after the meeting, Senator Graham described his talks with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman as “very fruitful” and that “the prospects for strengthening US-Saudi relations are as real as the reforms underway in the kingdom.”

The senator indicated that he expressed his deep appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s conclusion of a contract to acquire $37 billion worth of Boeing aircraft.

And last March, the White House said that Boeing had concluded two deals, which it described as historic, with Saudi Airlines and Riyadh Airlines, to buy 121 Boeing 787 Dreamliners, at a value of $37 billion.
