National Primary Commission swore in the members of its regional boards (+Details) – Diario 2001

Thus, after overcoming the difficulties of Internet connectivity characteristic throughout the country, members of the 24 Regional Boards for Primary Schools took a formal oath this Thursday before the National Commission for Primary Schools.

Through four virtual swearing-in acts carried out throughout the day, the president of the Commission, Jesús María Casal in the company of the vice president María Carolina Uzcátegui and other members of this body, greeted the members of the Regional Boards selected with criteria of gender equality, independence, capacity, experience and honor.

“We welcome you to this great team and congratulate all those selected. We remind you that this is a broad and inclusive call, which must incorporate all Venezuelans who want political change, without distinction, beyond the Unitary Platform.

We want you to be factors in citizen mobilization on the road to the Primary Election”, Casal said.

Casal instructed the Regional Boards to proceed with the act of formal installation of each board, designate a president and vice-president, as well as a Secretary chosen outside of their bosom.

The academic urged the members of the Regional Boards to work with all sectors of civil society:

“Youth, unions, businessmen, agricultural producers. All must be incorporated.

It is very important that we work together and with respect, with all the political and social sectors that want change, with an emphasis on young people who represent the future that we want to build”.

In addition, he invited them to carefully review the legal documents that govern the work of the National Primary Commission and the Regional Boards:

Framework Regulation of the National Primary Commission, Regulation of the Regional Boards, Schedule of the Primary Election, and the Form for the Collection of Signatures in support of candidacies on their own initiative.

The president of the National Commission also stressed the importance of becoming familiar with the four central principles that govern the work of the team that will carry out the Primary Election, contained in the First Balance of the Consultations of the Social and Political Sectors, published in December:

1. The primary as an exercise of participation rights.

2. Autonomy of the National Commission and its support teams, independent of government pressure or other political sectors.

3. Inviolable commitment to protect the identity of voters who participate in the Primary Election.

4. The National Primary Election Commission is the governing body of the Primary Election, defines its rules and controls the process, together with the Regional Boards in the states.

Visits to the regions

For her part, Vice President María Carolina Uzcátegui stressed that a large part of the success in organizing the Primary Election rests on the teamwork of all the main members and substitutes in each meeting, as well as on the support of dozens of Venezuelans who They also applied but were not selected.

Uzcátegui also reported that the National Commission is preparing a schedule of visits to the regions to hold meetings in person with each of the boards throughout the country.

Regarding the formation of municipal or parish boards, Uzcátegui clarified that this is not contemplated in the regulations, but that each regional board, aware of its state and its realities, may designate advisory or support teams for certain municipalities or parishes that so require.

“Each state has its particularity. You must define, according to the reality of each state, where an advisory team or delegate is required to support the resolution of specific issues”, Uzcátegui indicated.

The vice president of the Commission announced that in the coming days a member of the National Commission will be designated as liaison for each state, in order to improve communication and provide support to the regions.

Complementary act for members

The virtual swearing-in acts this Thursday were carried out according to the following schedule:

9:30 am: Amazonas, Anzoátegui, Apure, Aragua, Barinas and Bolívar.

11:15 am: Carabobo, Cojedes, Delta Amacuro, Capital District, Falcón and Guárico.

2:30 pm: La Guaira, Lara, Mérida, Miranda, Monagas and Nueva Esparta.

4:00 pm: Portuguese, Sucre, Tachira, Trujillo, Yaracuy and Zulia.

Although the majority of the members of the Regional Boards were able to comply with the swearing-in act, the National Commission reported that:

Those selected who were unable to connect to this Thursday’s event due to deficiencies in the Internet service, will be able to do so this Friday, April 14, in a complementary virtual event, set for this purpose.
