Mao, Valverde.- Ten handmade firearms and 109 sharp weapons were taken out of circulation on the Northwest Line, for whose crimes dozens of people were arrested and brought to justice.
The removal of these weapons occurred during preventive anti-crime operations, carried out in the last two weeks by members of the National Police and the Army of the Dominican Republic, in the company of representatives of the Public Ministry.
The operations have been carried out in streets and avenues of the Valverde, Montecristi, Santiago Rodríguez and Dajabón provinces, under the coordination of the Northwest regional director of the National Police, Colonel Ysaías Marte Sánchez.
Among the homemade weapons seized are the so-called “Chileans and chagones”, while among the confiscated edged weapons are knives, machetes, punches and razors.
