Cairo – Masrawy:
The management of the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization said that the concert for the artist Asala was not going to be held in the museum in the first place, but rather in the Cairo Lake adjacent to the museum.
The museum administration stated, in a notice on its Facebook account, that the lake is not under the authority of the museum in any way.
It called on the museum administration not to include his name in any news related to this event by the organizers or any other person or body.
The announcement by the Syrian artist Asala to hold an exceptional public concert in Cairo sparked criticism from a number of social media pioneers, calling for its cancellation.
The hashtag of canceling Asala’s concert came among the most blogged on the communication sites, due to the Syrian artist’s statement during her concert in the Riyadh season, which some considered to be a denial of Egypt’s role during her artistic career, as she said: “My history is all credited to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia only, which I will remain a city for her whole life.” .
