Argentine soccer legend Diego Armando Maradona died at the age of 60, due to a heart attack on the outskirts of the capital, Buenos Aires, according to his spokesman Sebastian Sanchi told AFP.
Maradona, who won the World Cup in 1986 and is considered one of the greatest football players in history, underwent brain surgery in early November.
And the President of the Republic, Alberto Fernandes, immediately declared national mourning for a period of three days. Minutes before the news was announced that shook the whole world, the Argentine press reported about the deteriorating health of the former Napoli Italian player, noting that he was receiving treatment by doctors at his home north of the capital.
