Thiruvananthapuram
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said he would consult with the state to find a solution to the problems related to the development of national highways. The union minister was inaugurating and laying stones for 15 national highway development projects worth Rs 45,536 crore in the state.
The state understands the difficulty in providing the required 25 percent land acquisition for National Highways. If some of the Centre’s proposals are accepted, the land acquisition tax will not be collected by the state. The state is expected to accept requests for free government land for the National Highway and exemption from state GST on cables and concrete.
Three lakh crore rupee projects will be implemented by 2025 with the cooperation of the state. Gadkari said that the support received from the state government in land acquisition and construction is huge and Kerala is one of the best tourist destinations in the world.
