During the patrols carried out by National Guard agents in the municipality of Lagos de Moreno, Jalisco, they located three abandoned vans. Inside they found an arsenal and a significant amount of marijuana, which was immediately seized.
It was early Wednesday morning when, during a reconnaissance tour in the town of Las Palmas, the agents noticed that, hidden among the trees and brush, there were three trucks with their lights on. Upon inspecting the vehicles, they discovered the war material and bags with what appeared to be marijuana.
In total, 17 long weapons, 13 chargers, ballistic vests and 1,140 bags with apparent marijuana were seized. Despite a search operation, no suspects were found. It is believed that a group related to violent acts in Lagos de Moreno was traveling in the vans. Noticing the presence of the National Guard patrols, they opted to abandon the trucks and flee towards the bush.
Everything seized was transferred to the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic in Jalisco, remaining at the disposal of the agent of the Public Ministry of the Federation so that the pertinent investigations can be carried out by federal agents.
