Mexico.- Elements of the National Guard (GN) detained four people, whom they securedfirearms, magazines, useful cartridges and tactical equipmentas part of the actions to guarantee security in Tamaulipas.

The incident was recorded when carrying out security and crime prevention patrols in the vicinity of the La Paz neighborhood in the municipality of Nuevo Laredo, national guards noticed the presence of armed men.

The members of the institution observed that the people were getting out of two vehicles, so a security device was deployed, and through voice commands they told them to hand over their weapons, to which they voluntarily agreed.

The four people were detained without firing a single shot and upon carrying out a thorough inspection they were assured of the following:

1,232 cartridges. 3 long weapons. 2 short weapons. 47 chargers. 2 bulletproof vests. 14 cartridge cases.

“The Book of Rights that Assist Persons in Detention was read to them, their registration was carried out in the National Registry of Detentions and, together with the war material and vehicles, they were made available to the Agency of the Public Ministry of the Federation in the entity, in order to continue the corresponding investigations,” said the Guard.
