National Grid plc has appointed Jim McGaugh as Head of US Corporate Affairs, to advance and align key strategic priorities across its US operations, particularly in Massachusetts and the State of New York, as well as federally, announced the company this week. Mr. McGaugh joins National Grid with a strong background in local, state and federal government and politics across all sectors. Previously, Mr. McGaugh spent 11 years at GE, most recently as Executive Director and Advisor, Head of Government Affairs and US State Policy, and held senior leadership positions at Citi.
Earlier in his career, he also managed federal and state government relations for a wholly owned subsidiary of Eversource Energy. As U.S. Corporate Affairs Manager, Mr. McGaugh will guide National Grid’s regional and federal teams as they expand their stakeholder engagement and thought leadership strategies, and collaborate with decision makers. to advance innovative energy solutions for all. Mr. McGaugh has deep roots in Massachusetts and the Northeast region, having made a career in the Commonwealth.
He holds a bachelor’s degree from UMass Lowell and a Juris Doctorate from Suffolk University Law School.
